A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a network comprising of nodes that collaborate to sense certain specified data in their vicinity, enabling environmental control. Because of their varied applications in both civilian and military domains [such as habitat monitoring, air and water quality management, hazard and disaster monitoring, health care, remote sensing, and smart homes], WSNs have gained popularity. But they are not impervious to attacks. This discussion focuses on the role of Physical Layer Security in preventing one of the most detrimental types of WSN attacks: jamming, a direct way to compromise the entire wireless network.
